Sr. Manager, Media Relations

As Sr. Manager, Media Relations you will be responsible for building awareness for the Electric Imp brand, promoting thought leadership and overseeing the marketing pipeline in our strategic target industries through a variety of communication channels. You will also manage analyst relations, social media and speaking opportunities. The role works closely with the Product, Sales, Business and Development teams, and other functional groups.

Your opportunity:

  • Break boundaries in bold PR and integrated communications programs that raise Electric Imp’s brand awareness, and build its reputation as a customer obsessed, security driven and technology powered IoT company (e.g. growth story, future strategy, design strategy, open platforms customer, tech and partner ecosystem)
  • Create an integrated thought leadership platform that harnesses our executive voices, while utilizing all aspects of integrated marketing (digital and social communications, events, speaking engagements, etc.) to amplify our mission, vision and unique perspective
  • Develop and execute strategic communications for executives including executive coaching, key messaging, talking points, keynotes, bylines, briefing documents, FAQs, positioning statements, press releases, presentations, and other collateral
  • Develop PR plans with product and marketing teams for major industry events and tradeshows, including messaging and positioning statements as part of an integrated marketing strategy
  • Manage external PR agency to develop and drive strategic communications and PR campaigns to drive results on time and on budget
  • Assist in planning and coordinating the Company’s participation in analyst events such as conferences, meetings, non-deal roadshows, and help develop content and manage annual analyst day meetings
  • Drive speaking opportunities to amplify our thought leadership in the IoT industry
  • Manage social media networks; LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube
  • Manage the industry awards program
  • Prepare pitches, media statements, bylines and manage the corporate blog
  • Monitor and communicate performance and strategy of competitors along with broader market trends
  • Execute measurement and reporting to determine effectiveness of all communications initiatives

What's needed:

  • At least 10 years of PR experience in enterprise technology, B2B SaaS, PaaS or IoT.
  • Proven track record of building effective PR programs (and can share results accordingly)
  • Mastery in writing and editing for different audiences such as product, corporate and executive communications and different vehicles (e.g. website copy, blogs, press releases, etc.) is critical.
  • Established technology and business media relationships; well-developed skills in building internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional communications and business colleagues proactively to bring the right information and insights into each communication initiative.
  • A track record of actively engaging in proactive media pitching and securing media coverage for a company and its offerings.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with executives and produce effective communications deliverables that meet or exceed goals within tight deadlines, as well as coaching them on messaging and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, create high-quality work with limited guidance, delivering measurable results with good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Track record for innovation on big (e.g. programs) and small (day to day work) activities.
  • Experience managing analysts and analyst day meetings.
  • Expertise in social media and integrated communications
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues in advance and proactively mitigate in appropriate ways.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrates a learning mindset that stays ahead of technology and communication craft trends.
  • Some domestic and international travel required.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, setting up booth displays, etc.
  • BA/BS degree required​
