We are looking for developers with a wide range of software engineering skills who enjoy contributing to a diverse range of projects and products, who like working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and who have a passion for high quality and elegant engineering.

Location  Cambridge, UK

Your Opportunity

  • Help design and deliver powerful Internet of Things solutions, involving embedded systems and software, wireless networks and cloud integration
  • Connect the Electric Imp Platform to a growing family of third-party cloud services and edge devices
  • Work with product owners to challenge and refine feature requests and requirements
  • Help improve, extend and maintain our powerful automated test framework
  • Provide demos to support our sales team, showing how the capabilities of the Electric Imp platform can be transformed into compelling products
  • Support customers of the Electric Imp platform as they integrate and launch their products

Our Requirements

  • 2 years of professional experience in software development, preferably in a CI environment
  • Desire to learn and develop your skills
  • Proficiency in several programming languages and platforms, ideally including C++ and Python
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for good engineering design
  • Good interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team

Advantageous Abilities

  • Proficiency in embedded software development, involving embedded systems, microcontrollers and sensors
  • Familiarity with the basic principles of electronics and hands-on hardware development
  • Experience with laboratory tools such as a oscilloscopes and multimeters
  • Experience developing and supporting IoT or wireless products
  • Experience with development for server/cloud, mobile and/or web
